You may have enabled Do Not Disturb. If so a crescent moon icon will be showing in the status bar near the battery icon. To turn it off, open Control Center by sliding up from the bottom of the screen and tap the illuminated crescent moon icon. This turns off Do Not Disturb and you'll get notifications again.
